First, to the commonsense side of this. If you wanted your name splattered everywhere, you’d do it. Maybe you have. But this isn’t a place to make that happen. For the non-techy, non-confusing explanation of what happens to your information on the two sites I control, sybilward.com and crystalorbpublishing.com, here’s the deal:

  1. Your NAME is only collected on the CONTACT ME form, the NEWSLETTER SUBSCRIPTION form, and when we run one, a CONTEST FORM.

  2. Your EMAIL ADDRESS is only collected on the CONTACT ME form, the NEWSLETTER SUBSCRIPTION form, STORY DOWNLOAD forms, and when we run one, a CONTEST FORM.

What that means is, there is no software used on this site to illicitly gather your personal data.

Your name and email address are retained (offsite on secured servers) if you subscribe to the newsletter/mailing list.

Your name and email address are retained temporarily when you use the contact form. The length of time I retain it has everything to do with responding to your question or comment. When our “conversation” is over, unless you ask to join my mailing list, your name and email address are deleted from all records.

Your name is not requested, and your email is not retained from the STORY DOWNLOAD forms beyond the very necessary occasion it is used to send you the story. It is not retained thereafter.

 

For the health of my websites, I utilize (SEO) software that monitors site usage, but it does so by referring sites and IP addresses. No real names, no backtracking to find who you are, no skulking and lurking and prying into your personal habits. NONE. Ain’t my business. I’m not in the business of spying or selling your information to the highest bidder. Your privacy matters here.

Personal Note: As much as I adore children, they are not welcome here. Should I ever write a children’s book or produce any content for them, I will build another site, a safe space, for them.

Venue Clause and Governing Law

By participating here, you agree that any matters in regards to this site and your participation on it shall be governed by the laws of the State of Georgia and of the United States as they are applied to agreements made and wholly to be performed in Georgia. The parties agree that the courts of Richmond County, Georgia shall have jurisdiction over any action to enforce this Agreement or other dispute or action between the parties. The parties agree to submit to the jurisdiction of such courts for the purpose of any such action.

The terms of this Privacy Policy may change from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes to this Privacy Policy by email or a popup notice on the site for a reasonable period of time after such changes are made.
